Making marbling paper requires intense concentration and all the steps look as if they are a very important part of the ritual.
The movement of marbling inks on water evoked in me a flow of invisible energy which led me to look at the pro- cess of making marbling paper as an abstract non-verbal communication method between people. I made ‘tools fordialogue’, which can be used as finger extensions for more intuitive use. The tools are used to drop and splatter theink and stir the water to generate movements and pattern.

[Visual Research]
The tools are inspired by my research in Istanbul, where I met a craftsman who specialised in the traditional marbling
technique called ‘Ebru’ and is still popular nowadays. Making marbling paper requires intense concentration.
